Plot Idea (Opinions Wanted, Approval Required)
SO. This villain douchebag I play. Being that he is a villain I decided it was high time for him to get into some trouble. Thus I present to you.
THE VIRUS PLOT (pending player involvement and approval.)
The Virus Plot would ideally be an opt in plot where basically humans get sick with what seems to be your normal average flu, but one that is highly contagious. The main effect is giving everyone bad B.O. and making them sweat A LOT, but hey, that person next to you might start to suddenly smell really good. Have they always smelled that way? Maybe you should get closer to them to check it out. Or maybe they smell nasty and are just THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD and you need to punch them until they stop.
You see, this flu is actually a biological troll tracking device, making them give off a certain (romantic related) pheromone which can then be used to find and possibly kidnap them for Trident. In humans pheromone driven instincts are subtle and not well understood, however, this virus kicks them into overdrive, so don't be surprised if your character is suddenly driven to do strange things around others they normally wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
For trolls, once infected you might start to get this inexplicable feeling that the drones are about to land on your doorstep. In actuality, there are no drones and therefore no reproductive necessity, it's just that since failing to reproduce in troll culture means YOU WILL DIE this pheromone is simply the easiest one to induce in their species and manipulate. No it's not anything as cheesy as sex pollen or FUCK OR DIE mating instincts(though hey the viruses effect everyone a little differently and if you want to go that route I'M CERTAINLY NOT STOPPING YOU) the main effect is making trolls feel really uneasy, easily startled, afraid, maybe a bit more sensitive to touch, and more emotional.
Whether you are a troll, a human, or other (carrier or otherwise infected and sneezing up a storm) you're sure to notice the sudden abundance of flying beetles in our fair city. Made in a laboratory, and definitely not indigenous to Los Angeles, these beetles have been spliced with troll DNA. Just enough so that they can pick up on their pheromone scent. Thanks to some minuscule cybernetic implants once they find a troll they can then relay this information to a private server elsewhere.
Attempts at capturing said beetles for investigation will result in their prompt demise (via their insect hearts/brains or whatever bugs have being destroyed). Can't trace a stream of information to it's source if the powers off after all.
Since a plot like this could have a huge effect on troll characters I need permission from their players to run it, even if they don't plan on opting in to the event. Infected trolls will be noticed and will be tracked. If your character is psionic they are even more likely to be noticed.
This may come to nothing, or may have serious results depending on other player's plans, character motives, or future mod related events so be aware.
For questions, concerns, plotting, and discussion of ic repercussions for my character (like finding him and beating him up which I am super for happening) don't hesitate to comment below!
